New Dubai Travel Guidelines 2021
COVID-19 PCR Test Information:
For UAE Citizens
If you are a UAE citizen, then you can take a PCR test on arrival in Dubai.
For UAE Residents
If you are a UAE resident and GCC citizen, then you are required to go for a pre-travel PCR test.
What SCCDM Said?
On 27 Jan 2021 (Wednesday), the SCCDM (Supreme Committee for Crisis and Disaster Management) in Dubai shared rules for the air passengers that have come in effect from January 31, 2021 (Sunday). The new regulations are added to ensure that neither an infected visitor enters Dubai nor the safety of any traveller is harmed.
The New Rules
The committee shared three new rules for the air passengers landing at the Dubai International Airport (DXB).
- The UAE citizens arriving from any part of the world will need to get a PCR Test as and when they arrive in Dubai for the novel Coronavirus.
- The residents of the UAE and Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) will have to get a pre-travel PCR Test for the coronavirus, no matter where they are coming from. But, in addition, if a traveller is arriving from a severely Corona-affected country, then he/ she will have to go for additional tests before taking the Dubai flight. This rule was added to make sure that the situation doesn’t get worse.
- The time limit for the PCR Test has been reduced from 96 hours to 72 hours. As per this validity period, no traveller can carry the PCR test result more than the limited time frame. This rule was essential as now instant results will be shared with no time-gap.
