The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in the year 2017 decided to offer visas to travellers looking to visit the country and bring an end to their economic dependency on oil. Over the years the country is slowly opening its borders to the international community. And Riyadh Season Festival 2021 is the latest initiative taken by the country to roll out the red carpet welcoming travellers to the country. The festival is a five-month-long festival that began on October 20 of 2021 and will go on till 31st March 2022. The Riyadh Season festival is segregated into fourteen different zones, with each zone offering something unique. Below is a guide to all the zones that are part of the Riyadh season festival and what they have to offer.
Zones Of Riyadh Season Festival 2021
1. The Boulevard
The first zone on the list is the biggest of them all known as ‘The Boulevard’. The zone houses eight sub-sections with every section displaying its own festivals, events and retail stores matching the sub-sections. The venue is also home to a three km long walkway and an arcade with over 500 electronic games for kids and adults alike. The zone also has several restaurants to help visitors take care of their hunger cravings.

2. Riyadh’s Winter Wonderland
With its earlier success during the Riyadh Season festival in 2019, the 2021 edition promises to be forty per cent bigger than the previous venue. The winter wonderland itself promises six subsections within the venue that would include a total of a hundred and three activities and fifty-two rides. Riyadh’s Winter Wonderland is the perfect destination for a fun-filled day with family and friends. And is one of the biggest events happening in the kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

3. Riyadh Oasis
Oasis Riyadh is a retreat for art and music lovers set in the heart of the desert that lies to the north of the capital. The zone allows the visitors to come and leave their imprint in the sands of time. Travellers can dine at some classic international chain of restaurants while enjoying traditional music and watching artistic performances. The zone in the past has hosted makeshift restaurants of several popular restaurant brands from across the world like Zuma, Amazonico and Ninive. The location also has a few day-use glams (glamourous camps) which accommodate close to 8 and can cost up to SAR 13,000 for a day.

4. Cultural Hub Of Khalouha
The cultural hub of Khalouha is the perfect place to enjoy some classical Arabic poetry. Al Khalouha is a haven for poetry lovers looking for a battle of words between poets who mould words to get the win. One may enjoy a battle of these subtle yet powerful words while sipping on some coffee from the several cafes that form the borders of the zone. The poetic skills of the poets take you on a journey that leaves an everlasting memory.

5. Via Riyadh
Via Riyadh is the perfect destination for visitors of the Riyadh Season festival to pamper themselves to the max. This particular zone houses some of the most popular retail store brands from around the world. The zone is the best place to enjoy some of the finest food at the numerous fine dining restaurants set up in the zone. The zone features some exclusive VIP cinemas and five-star luxury hotels that adorn the zone.

6. Al Athariyyah
The next zone in the Riyadh Season festival is the one known as Al Athariyyah. The zone is perfect for visitors looking to enjoy some nice music along with a fine dining meal. The Al Athariyyah zone offers music genres ranging from rock to jazz to retro classics along with several popular delicacies to enjoy from. There are exclusive musical performances and retail shops that mirror the diverse and rich Saudi culture through their presentations and offerings. With several other activities for people of ages and more.

7. Al Murabba
This next zone focuses mainly on art and the diversity prevalent in the country of Saudi is known as the Al Murabba zone. The zone features seven foreign culinary experiences with live music complementing the restaurant’s ambience. And a special illuminating night walk that goes around the zone that lights up after the sunset. Renowned celebrity chef’s from across the globe present their culinary masterpieces at the Al Murabba zone. So make sure to visit this zone and go on a gastronomical journey to ancient Arabia, Italy or France.

8. Riyadh Front
The zone of Riyadh Front features events never ever seen happening in the Kingdom Of Saudi Arabia. The zone would feature events like the Saudi Anime show, Jewellery exhibition and the Riyadh Motor Show. These big scale exhibitions would take place in close proximity to each other. And would be one of the most happening events during the Season festival. The zone would also be an apt location to capture some beautiful memoirs of the Riyadh Season Festival.

9. Riyadh Safari
The most exciting and informative zone during the Riyadh Season festival is the zone known as Riyadh Safari. The safari zone does not just allow visitors to witness wild animals in their natural habitat. But they also gain information about the importance of conservation and preservation of the environment and its resources. Visitors are also given information about interesting facts about the animals and how directly or indirectly these animals can impact the biodiversity of a region. One can witness the rare albino tiger, some 18 different species of Macaw and many more. There are also several restaurants and cafes that line the borders of the zone. Ensuring an experience and view of something resembling a safari lounge in Africa.

10. Combat Field
The most popular zone amongst the youth is one of the largest physical gaming arenas in all of the venues that can help visitors of all ages to vent out in a fun way. The combat field is a massive gaming arena with several different games available for visitors to play and experience first-hand the beauty of virtual reality gaming. The zone offers a massive arena to its visitors to play a game of laser tag but with a twist. That involves electronic pads attached to one’s armour that send jolts of electricity to the player being hit with the laser. There are other activities where one can ride a tank or shoot clay plates with real shotgun ammunition, but under guided supervision, of course.

11. The Groves
The next zone in the Riyadh Season festival for dog lovers is the one known as ‘The Groves’. The venue allows one to bring along your furry pet along to the zone and lose all the restraints allowing your pet to have a good time with their other furry pals. The zone also has several restaurants and cafes that provide delicious food both for you and your pet. The venue allows a good time for pet owners and for those looking for some unconditional furry love.

12. Riyadh Pulse
The Riyadh Pulse takes the Riyadh Season festival 2021 to a whole new level. The venue is home to some intriguing 3D displays that transform the zone into a futuristic arena. The only words to describe the zone is a technological wonder that creates things right out of your imagination. The visuals and holograms in the zone are so real that from a distance one would not be able to differentiate them from the real and the fantasy world.

13. Zaman Village
Over the years Riyadh has become an upcoming metropolitan city with skyscrapers due to rapid development. Today anyone entering the capital city of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is amazed by the massive development. But yet the Saudi’s love their culture and still want to stay connected to their roots. One such zone that retains the essence of the old Saudi Arabia is the Zaman village.

14. Al Salam Tree
The final zone can somewhat be called an escape from the fast-paced ambience of the festival. The organizers of the Riyadh Season Festival understood that an entire day of roaming around the festival venue was certain to get the visitors tired. So they came up with a zone particularly designed to help the visitors rejuvenate. And catch a breather from all the activities going on in the numerous zones. The Al Salam tree is a zone where one can lie down on the lush green lawns and enjoy a peaceful time away from the commotion and hustle that surrounds one at the festival.
